A balance of conventional and complimentary health solutions to gain control of your health
The topic of health is a huge one and can mean so many things to so many people…what is a healthy weight, fitness level or range of mobility, is all relative and a very personal thing to each individual. Something that most people will agree on however is that having control of your own health, in whatever guise or to whatever level that means to you, is important.
So what options are open to us, in order to gain the level of control that we choose, to improve or maintain, our own health? And is it possible to combine conventional remedies with more complimentary?
I think it is interesting that in countries where Western science is generally accepted as the main foundation for healthcare and is ‘evidence based’ that the huge rise in complimentary and alternative medicines and health solutions, should gain such momentum with seemingly no U-turn on the horizon.
Alternative or Complimentary solutions can take the form of medicines and homeopathic remedies such as:
- herbal teas, essential oils or other herbal-based remedies.
- physical treatments such as acupuncture or hydrotherapy,
- lifestyle changes such as meditation or relaxation and yoga
- or dietary changes including alcohol reduction, or reducing certain food stuffs.
Many people, although acknowledge that a homeopathic remedy is no substitute for a vaccine and that homeopathy treatments should not be used to replace conventional medical treatment of serious diseases or infections, do agree that there is a place for their use and are willing to seek more natural, less conventional methods to treat common skin conditions such as eczema and other health issues including anxiety, arthritis, depression, high blood pressure, insomnia, hormonal imbalances and migraines. And here at Seabuckthorn Australia, we would love to hear how you integrate conventional and complimentary health solutions into your lifestyle, so please comment or why not drop us line!
You should always consult your doctor if you plan to start homeopathic treatment and be aware that in Australia, the Australian Register of Homoeopaths (AROH) is the independent (non-government) national registration board for professional homeopaths. Practitioners who choose to register with AROH are recognised by all the major health insurance funds for rebates on ancillary benefit tables.
And be aware, that Naturopaths are not homeopaths. Naturopathic training does not meet the government standards for homeopathy, although some naturopaths have undertaken additional studies to meet these requirements.
